    You get the points as you make the transactions and can pay off as you want. Whether the points are worth the interest you would pay though, is another matter, You would need to wait for them to appear on the statement before paying them off, as you would be carrying a BT.
  • So if I made a purchase of, say, £100 on a Friday and made the payment on a Monday do you mean the payment would be allocated against my 0% BT balance rather than the new transaction? I thought they now had to allocate at the largest interest bearing transaction?

    They do, but most lenders specifiy it is highest to lowest rate on statemented balances, then unstatemented balances.

    Check your t&cs to be certain though.

    Edit - having looked at the Tesco summary box, they may not apply the statemented/unstatemented distinction. But defintely check with them first.
