Lets see if they help.
Ill give live updates so any help would be appreciated, here we go so far;
Hello! Thank you for choosing QuickQuid, where if approved, get cash sent to your bank account within 10 minutes after approval, 24/7. A representative will respond to you shortly.
You are now chatting with Rachelle.
Matthew: Hi i just tried calling but it cut me off cos your offices too busy
Rachelle: Thank you for contacting QuickQuid. I'd be happy to assist you with any questions you have. Before we start, can you please verify your full forename, surname, full date of birth and your postcode?
Matthew: ok
Matthew: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Rachelle: Thank you Matthew. How may I assist you?
Matthew: im late paying my repayment, im in a pretty dire situation now with me losing my job. Obviously I want to pay this back asap because the interest is just making it almost impossible for me to pay it back in good time. Please could you tell me my options so we can deal with this?
Rachelle: One moment please. I'll be right with you.
Matthew: I mean, if interest was to freeze I could still struggle a bit but would be able to pay £250 a month for the next 4 months to pay it off in full.
Matthew: ok
Rachelle: I can assist you. My apologies for your financial hardship at this time. Our records indicate you have a default balance of £387.48. How much of a good faith payment can you make now so that I can set a payment plan for you to get your account back in good standing with us?
Rachelle: I can only assist you with the default balance.
Matthew: I have £10 in my wallet, I am negative £6 in my bank. I cant afford petrol and have been cycling to work everyday (15 miles) so as far as paying anything now thats not even going to be an option. Maybe the end of next month we could sort something, but even if im to pay you that amount the end of the next month thats still only mostly interest and isnt going to help my cause. I want this debt gone, as much as you want me to pay it off
Matthew: please help me
Rachelle: How much are you able to pay per month?
Matthew: id struggle, but £250. that would only cover interest though wouldnt it so it would be going on forever.

Rachelle: I can set the following arrangements £193.74 due 04/10/2013 and 29/11/2013 via debit card ending in XX3043.
Matthew: that does sound good...... but i wont have 193.74 on the 4th october, i do appreciate that help though. Is here a way we can extend that payment to nearer the end of the month? seeing as there is almost a 2 month gap between those payments?0 -
Rachelle: I can set the following arrangements £193.74 due 25/10/2013 and 29/11/2013 via debit card ending in XX3043.
Matthew: now that sounds better. Can I please ask how that payment is working? because im due to give you a payment the end of the month so does that mean that it will be in addition to those charges? so at the end of october ill be paying you nearer £500?0 -
Rachelle: Unfortunately, that is correct. I am unable to alter your current balance amount of due date.
Matthew: I appreciate your help but then this doesent help my situation and doesent help me paying you back
Matthew: I understand it isnt your fault me losing my job
Matthew: but it came very suddenly and I have never defaulted with you guys up till now0 -
Rachelle: My apologies, if you want, you can set the payment plan and if the current balance is defaulted, you can contact us at that time and set another arrangement for the defaulted balance.
Matthew: but then ill be adding more interest and more defaults to my account. In all honestly I would just like this debt paid off at £250 a month for the next 4 months. Im happy to pay that to get this clear. I can write this in a letter if you wish?
Matthew: The only way forward I can see this going is for the interest to be frozen for a period to help me get back on track of this
Matthew: ive alreedy paid back more than ive borrowed0 -
Rachelle: My apologies but again, I can only assist you with the default balance. I can the arrangements as £250.00 due 29/11/2013 and £137.48 due 31/12/2013 via debit card ending in XX3043. Then your current balance of £371.85 will process on 31/10/2013.
Matthew: allow me a couple of minutes to do figures in my head0 -
does anyone have any advice here?0
-
Matthew: i appreciate the help you have tried to give me, but this isnt going to help me pay back the debt. Its only going to help me pay back the interest. This isnt something what im looking to do.
Matthew: I want to pay the debt and not the interest
Matthew: of course there is interest added, i need to pay but i dont want to be paying just interest and nothing towards the debt
Matthew: is what im saying0 -
Matthew: I think if there is nothing you can offer me when im offering you £250 a month then ill have to go to the citzens advice and see if they can help my cause. As far as I can tell thats a reasonable offer im giving you.0

Rachelle: My apologies yes you may seek a debt management company for assistance with the account and hopefully they can get this sorted for you.
Rachelle: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Rachelle: My apologies again.
Rachelle: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Matthew: well, I was hoping there was. But no obviously there isnt on this occasion.
Matthew: What is going to happen to my account
Rachelle: At this time, collection activities will continue.
Matthew: what does that mean?
Rachelle: You will continue to receive phone calls, email, text messages and post letters.
Matthew: ok
Matthew: what will it take for you to freeze interest
Rachelle: My apologies but the account is an interest account at we will not stop the interest. Unless you are set on a payment plan via your debt management company.
Matthew: what debt management companies to you recommend0 -
I'd write to them to try to set up a repayment plan, rather than try to use their online help.
I'd remind them of the good practice charter that the Consumer Finance Association have committed to. And that you note on their website that they are a member of CFA.
http://www.cfa-uk.co.uk/our-standards/codes-of-practice.html
and
http://www.cfa-uk.co.uk/assets/files/PD&STL_Charter.pdf
As you are sure they will consider that £250 a month is a reasonable repayment plan you note that they will freeze interest & charges. If you are having problems
repaying your loan, we will:
> Deal with cases of financial difficulty
sympathetically and positively and do what
we can to help you manage what you owe.
> Freeze interest and charges if you make
repayments under a reasonable repayment plan
or after a maximum of 60 days of non-payment.
> Tell you about free and independent debtcounselling
organisations who can also help you
There is no mention in the charter that you need to use a debt management advisor/company/charity and that you cannot set up your own repayment plan.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
