Npower How to Leave HELP

I have been trying to leave Npower for twelve months, they are still blaming technical problems for not providing a bill for 18 months and then state I cannot leave because of alleged arrears. I have offered to pay on receipt of a bill - STILL WAITING. Complained to ombudsman - Waste of time.
They have now put me on the standard rate and advised me to visit website to get a better rate , which will lock me in again to Npower. Surely this is illegal and sharp practice especially as they are chargiing me £830 per month Yes that is correct £830 a month. At least !!!!!! Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there is an (alleged) debt they will block a transfer. The billing problems are theirs alone and, assuming the have not billed you previously, can only go back 12 months.

Remind them of this, stating you require a bill within 28 days or you will be forced to take them to court to issue a bill or release your meter to another supplier.

Looking at the usage I would say so, also backbilling would only apply to consumers.

Op take it you have put the money aside that you have not been paying?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I have been having problems trying to switch from n power basically no bill being provided even though I ring weekly and to set up a direct debit took me 4 months of ringing them! They won't let me switch as said I owed 57 I paid it and now they have put a block on my account so they can't bill me all I can do is make payments.

I left npower back in July, been with new supplier for 3 months and have just had my first bill.

But still I haven't had a final bill from npower, they keep sending me letters asking to reinstate my dd which they have just decided to put up!

I've tried ringing, putting in complaints etc but to no avail.

Instead, I have worked out how much I owe them, put that to one side and have now left it.

They can whistle for their money.

Utterly incompetent is the word that describes that company now so the op's problem doesn't surprise me in the least.

See http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=63247634&postcount=9 - move out & get someone to move in. Standard licensing condition (SLC) says a final bill has to be issued in 42 days The debt become your personal responsibility, not the current (new) bill payer who can leave npower with no arrears.

Speaking from a factual basis currently npower are unable to keep to the SLC for final bills by a couple of days over.

Please be aware that licensing issues have to be brought to ofgem separate to the Ombudsman as they can take a year to detect any breaches and are not obliged to report them to ofgem.

They are a bunch of inept buffoons.
Still waiting for my final bill to arrive since the the start of July!
