Lost Credit Card Agreement

I wonder if anyone can advise me on this?

I have just received a letter from my credit card company stating that they are unable to locate a copy of my signed agreement, they are requesting me to sign a new one.

Does this mean that I legally don't have a contract with them and if so what are the implications (do I have to pay off the balance?).

I'm pretty sure the law changed so it didn't matter if the credit agreement wasn't signed. It is implied by you using the credit. I could be wrong though.

Only for agreements made after April 6th 2007. For agreements taken out before then if the creditor never had a signed one then they are well and truly fooked.
