It depends on who you are complaining to.
Who do you want to complain about? My username refers to my enthusiasm for 'asking the stupid question' I don't think you're stupid!0 -
If you had cars from car dealerships prior to January 14th 2005, your complaints are over.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

You don't 'claim back' you can make a complaint, provide proof that you have been miss sold, then they may or may not uphold your complaint.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Well where do start . The 2 cars we got where in 2002 ended 2006.
We had loan 2002 to 06
And mortgage 2001 to 07 re mortgage for another house .
I only own 1 credit card pay in full every month . And when I what something I save up for it 1st .
As its long time ago I can't find most off the paperwork .But have names of banks and loan company how much I paid a month. I burnt all info about 4 yrs ago .
Ive tried reading most of the info. And now more confused or scared of looking stupid.

It's very easy, ignore the Claims Management Companies sales lies.
Who did you buy the cars from?
Who provided the loan?
Was the mortgage a mortgage or a secured second charge?
Call the companies involved to see if they can provide you any account information, if they can fantastic, if they can't you'll need to decide if it's worth you sending them £10 to see what they hold on file.
Once you have your account information either write a letter detailing why you feel you where mis sold the policy or download the Financial Ombudsman Services consumer questionnaire and send it to the company.
Remember each sale will have been different, you're more likely to have a successful complaint if your honest and you don't copy what the guides on the Internet tell you to say.
Your also more likely to have your complaint upheld if you don't use a CMC.
Everyone's very helpful here and the advice is pretty spot on usually, just ask for help.My username refers to my enthusiasm for 'asking the stupid question' I don't think you're stupid!0 -
Okay
The car loans will probably have been sold through whoever you bought the car from and PPI along with them. Many added PPI to the loan. That meant you paid interest on the PPI premium throughout the term of the loan.
Generally if this has occurred, you complain to the dealer who reject the complaint. If you go to th Financial Ombudsman Service they will probably not be able to consider a 2002 sale by a car dealer because regulation of general insurance selling only came in on 14 January 2005. Most banks, building societies and insurance companies were in voluntary arrangements before then but if they did not sell the policy they cannot have missold it - they only provided it after you applied for it.
A complaint about PPI sold for a mortgage in 2007 could be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the seller has gone bust). If it was sold by a bank or building in 2001 a complaint could be taken to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
However, in most cases the seller of PPI for a mortgage can argue that the cover was necessary in order to protect your home if you lost your income. So the uphold rate is low.0 -
HI .
My biggest issue they are in his name as in mr Sunterra . Not mr n mrs Sunterra .
We got cars for uncle Arnold clark . on was nissian finance other through black horse .
Loan was at TSB . Hade account there but we moved else where.
Im look to see who was our mortgage company was .
thanks0 -
Your car finaince with Arnold Clark will probably go nowhere because they weren't regulated and can dismiss your complaint.
You may have more luck with Black Horse and the loan. Unless you paid single premium PPI on your mortgage, or didn't need it, the chances there are slim.

come back with your questions - if you don't have your account numbers, you need the closed account method.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
If they are in Mr Sunterra's name, it is him who would have to make the complaint.
You as Mrs Sunterra will get absolutely nowheremake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
