I don't really know what you mean. Are you talking about buying fakes/copies?
If you are then there is always the possibility that a fake item is impounded by customs and you wouldn't be able to get a refund.
Otherwise it's pretty much like buying on Ebay, check out the sellers and be careful what you are buying. Remember that electrical items need to be up to UK standard and compatible otherwise they could be dangerous.

Thanks, what I meant was some items are branded and at a fraction of the cost in this country so must be fake?.. And also not being well up on brands wouldn't know anyway and so didn't want to break the law buying fakes inadvertently - if it's legal at them prices I don't mind taking the risk

They are very careful not to use any brand names in the title despite them blatantly being fakes such as

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-arrival-lady-handbag-2013-leather-shoulderbag-woman-free-shipping-1pce-wholesale-NX-26/819593310.html

If they cost a fraction of the price and come from China then they are probably fakes. The fact they are probably made in the same factory as the genuine ones are made is irrelevant. Personally if I was going to buy a fake I'd probably buy it from here.

It could well be legal to buy. However, it's not legal to import fakes into the UK. And pretty much everything they sell on that website is fake, no matter how hard anyone tries to justify that 'they might not be'. They are. Full stop.

And if it slips past customs, people will laugh at you for buying such cheap rubbish :)

That's a bit harsh, anything with a brand name may well be fake, there's plenty of non branded stuff that is perfectly fine.
I buy occasionally from a couple of sellers on there, items are fine and sellers quite good.
