How long have you worked for them, do you get staff discount?0

Just used them, never again. Fitting price was competitive, but the fitting garage were the most miserable bunch of people I have ever met.
They moaned about the job, they moaned about how much they were paid by Blackcircles, they moaned when I asked them to swap front wheels to back and they threw away the metal valve caps which are standard fit on my car, this costing them more money in hunting around the fitting bay to find them.
I thought it was because I only wanted the tyres which they didn't supply, but when I went to pick the car up they were moaning about every other job they had.
Back to Camskill next time and I'll pay a fitter myself.0 -
Why not just goto my local tyre shop and pay less with no messing?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Not surprised they moaned about rotating the wheels for you. You haven't paid for that, just a straightforward swap.
Regarding Blackcircles, it's the garages fault they negotiated themselves such a small slice of the pie.0 -
Because your local tyre shop is local to you and the surrounding area.forgotmyname wrote: »Why not just goto my local tyre shop and pay less with no messing?
Not to the rest of the country.0 -
Have used them before but they were competitive back then. Not now, on my tyres at least.
You can pick which garage you use (from their list of course) so try and pick one you've at least some direct/indirect experience with or you might end up with the happy Harrys from daveyjp's place.
Incidentally I always wondered what the fitting garage makes on the deal. Probably not a lot.0 -

Thats all very well, but all too often they don't want to play ball with finding what i want at a decent price, they try to persuade to buy what they get the best mark up on...which is OK for people who think tyres are black round and an unwelcome expense.
I do the same as the poster above, camskill/mytyres and then get someone competent and not as miserable as scrooge to fit them for me.0 -
I found Oponeo at lot (33%) cheaper than Blackcircles for a specific 205/55/16 last week. Delivered within 4 days FOC.
This week I found Mytyres cheaper (30%) than Oponeo for a specific 205/50/17.
My local tyre place charge £8/wheel for fit/balance/disposal and even suggested I have the tyres delivered straight to them next time.

Pneus Online is also one to watch, my winter tyres were remarkably cheap.0

I think the secret to this tyre lark is to have a shortlist of tyre makes models in your size, and to visit your favourite sites weekly from around 6 months before you need them.
Then you see the weekly variations in price and when the real bargain crops up hit the BiY button sharpish.
Its leaving things till the last minute ie trying to buy winter tyres when the first 6" carpet is already outside your door, you get stung.0
