Connect pc speakers to TV

22 inch TV has poor sound quality
I have pc speakers which are mains powered & have headphone size jack & green plastic end.
I tried them on TV headphone socket & you can hear the sound but also loud buzzing.
TV does not have a scart but has something called a vga/pg audio in 3.5mm which I don't know whether this has any relevance.
Is there anything I can buy that would enable the speakers to work with the TV please.

What speakers are they. More than likely passive speakers, yes you can buy something to make them better, but easier and cheaper to buy better speakers.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

They are E machine speakers which came with a desktop computer some years ago.0

They're clearly not passive speakers if they're mains powered.
That VGA/PC jack is an INPUT to carry the sound INTO the TV along with a VGA picture.
Buzzing - 1. Make sure the jack plug is firmly inserted into the headphone socket.
2. put the volume at about half on the speakers, and on the TV. This should get rid of any buzz from either being down too low or up too high, and adjust from there.
3. Have a look for red and white phono plugs, and check if they're labelled as an OUTPUT - I don't fancy your chances on a 22" though. You could then get a phono (male) to stereo jack (female) adaptor.0
