Hi,
Im not sure this is the correct place to start this thread but would love some help if anyone can? I am getting married in Dec this year, I am looking for a Heart Shaped gift box to put various gifts in for my bride to be to open the night before the wedding, I am having huge problems finding anything that looks special enough, found one sie but they charge around £50 plus £8 postage, but he boxes are really lovely looking. I am looking for something that can be colour customised and maybe have a date and name embroidered onto, something quite fancy but not over the top, with some sort of fabric/silk etc covering it all.
Any ideas? Many thanks!! Or ideas of what I could put in it as im currently having a mental block and panic about it!

Ebay? Or maybe Etsy?
Congratulations btw

Have a look in places like Hobbycraft for plain boxes. You can then decorate it yourself, maybe with pictures of the two of you together. She'll love that you've gone to all the effort yourself.

Thank for the suggestion, the problem is that I dont have a creative bone in my body
What I would end up with would be a box that looks like a young child has made! 0 -
If you are on Facebook, contact pages like S.I.T.T and Crafty Likes etc. Ask them to put a shout out for someone who would make your box and customise it to your liking (and budget)
They do this kind of shout out regularly and you should get lots of links and introductions to crafters.
I hope you get something lovely!

Hobbycraft do heart shaped boxes, but have a look & see if they're the size you were thinking of.
All else fails, spraypaint it white & let your bride redecorate it with photos or whatever she wishes.
Congratulations & hoping the day is one of thousands of happy ones for you!0 -
30 minutes of vigorous googling has given me these:
what size box are you looking for?
I can recommend countrybaskets.co.uk for supplies to assemble your own, plus ordering personalised nameplates via ebay etc.
eg: this box is 20cm x 7cm, has a fabric top and needs your extras added. http://www.countrybaskets.co.uk/products/craft_supplies/knitting_and_sewing/893353/vintage_sewing_box_heart_shape/
then maybe wrapped with ribbons with a personalised tag from someone like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wedding-Cards-Post-Box-Wishing-Well-Tag-Vintage-Aged-Lace-Personalised-/161108193945?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Celebrations_Occasions_ET&hash=item2582cbf299
Matalan has a large rush basket with lid which could be wrapped in a huge satin ribbon & personalised tag
Or you could try an order with one of the crafters on Etsy - order a custom item but you'd need to do it pretty quick as many of the artisans live abroad!
eg http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/119084367/wedding-shower-red-pink-heart-shaped?ref=sr_gallery_25&ga_search_query=heart+shaped+gift+box&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=heart+shaped+gift+box
http://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/154555934/heart-shaped-large-hand-decorated-gift?ref=sr_gallery_10&ga_search_query=large+heart+shaped+box&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=large+heart+shaped+box
Otherwise you're looking at something like these:http://www.amazon.co.uk/Graduated-Heart-Shaped-Storage-Floral/dp/B008USDBGE/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1380725746&sr=1-1&keywords=heart+shaped+box
with separately ordered personalisation like this carefully stuck on top!: http://katiesue.co.uk/category_13/tags.htm0 -
Forgot to add - try posting this request in a new thread on the Weddings board here - they are all really lovely & helpful

sorry ive got to take your quote and reply to it....if my man had made it specially to put presents in for me to open on our wedding day...i would cherish it forever!!!!!!!!!
on the other hand...ive no suggestions of where to buy...but even if you were going to go for an expensive box especially if its been personalised nicely dont forget it can be turned into a keepsake box after the wedding to store all those wonderful little bits of the day that you just dont want to throw away...so whilst it might seem expensive it could have another use afterwards

I agree with LEJC, if my husband made me something like that, however childish or amateur looking I would treasure it forever, far more than if he'd just splashed the cash. If you looked on the internet for inspiration I'm sure you could do something very personal. I also think it's a lovely romantic idea.

Where do you live Hammers? If you do want to go down the route of making it yourself there will be people and places who can help you be creative. Near where I live there is an arts centre with lots of evening classes. There may well be something near you.0
