I have gone back to adding postage, I trialled free postage for a while and it was a mare,
I have some items which I listed for £23 and everyone sold for £23. I went back to £15 + £8 p&p and they usually reach £50 or £60

As a TRS seller I get a 15% discount for compliant listings, so 'free' postage saves me money and doesn't seem to make any difference on the amount I sell. It also means an automatic 5* for p and p.

Same here, we got the 15% discount for some of our items listed last month. Still can't decide....day after posing the question on here I changed a buy it now listing that had been running for 14 days back to price plus postage and it sold that afternoon, don't know if that was just a coincidence or not but then yesterday one that I left with free postage sold!! seems to be no rhyme or reason!!

On my ebay searches it defaults to "price lowest first" so if I used this I would find the cheapest items but postage could be high.

I always change the search setting to "price + pp lowest first" as obviously this give me the best prices overall.

Maybe ebay should have this as the default setting.

If it's a low cost item there may be hundreds, and possibly the postage costs (as opposed to item costs) don't register with buyers .

All of our items are free P&P however around 70% of our listings are multi variation listings offering different quantities of that item i.e 2, 3, 4 etc.

I can not advise whether free P&P is worth it or not as we have always had our items as free P&P but we are doing ok on eBay at around £6K a month in sales.

On a separate note anyone else seen a drop in sales since eBay introduced the new TRS etc?

Our sales tanked and I couldn't find our items on best match search on page 1 for about 10 days even though we were always at the top of best match prior to changes - it has improved again but it was rather odd. Thankfully Amazon has been massively busy for us at around 600 orders a day so I was a little thankful for the eBay drop lol.

End of September was really poor for me, and last weekend was absolutely dead. However, on Monday it went ballistic and I'm doing Christmas level sales this week- quieter today, but that's welcome to be honest.

I'm sure some people only look at the price and pay no attention to how much the postage is. Personally it just annoys me because I then have to add up myself how much it will come to in total so I can compare with other listings.

You can arrange search results to show lowest price including P&P which would mean there's no effort on your part. :)

Our company hasn't changed it's policy for listing postage separately and sales have nearly doubled. Our items are now cheaper than our competition and that's what buyers see first even though the overall costs are the same.
