Yep i,d agree, perfect age and situation to start giving your dd some controlled independance.0

My daughter is 10 and did this earlier this year, admittedly with her slightly older (13) brother.
Check the cinemas policy about taking in their own sweets/drinks, you don't want them embarassed if confiscated or spending a fortune if you don't need to.
My dd can be a pain for wanting to go to the loo in the middle of the showing, so I'd tell her to make sure she goes before they watch the film, especially if it's a multi screen and she's like mine not blessed to the directional co-ordination sense.
Hope she has a great time.0 -
If she walks to school what extra worry do you have about her being in a room sat still for 2+ hours?0

Ha. I have no patience with film ratings, Disney films that were U rated when I was a kid (we have the videos as proof) are now PGs. Ridiculous.0 -
At 13 I used to travel into town with a friend, we would go to Pizza Hut and then watch a film at the cinema. So 10 sounds fine to me for what you are describing.0
