Kitchen Improvements / Refurb

My kitchen needs some pretty decent TLC and I've decided that I can't afford to have a brand new one installed and what's currently there is fairly OK, just needs work.
So I've decided to:
1) remove tiles between work top and top cupboards and re-tile (never done this before)
2) replace worktops(someone in to do this - not sure how much this will cost - any ideas?)
3) replace sink around the same time - maybe get a ceramic sink but not sure if it would suit my kitchen and if it's worth the expense
4) replace flooring - not sure what type - laminate flooring, vinyl, tiles?
5) buy a new base unit as one of my work tops has nothing beneath as the old owners removed it and chucked it away
6) Buy new doors and handles for the other cabinets and draws
Does anyone have any advice on the above? Thinking maybe I could do all of this on maybe £1000-£1250?
I'm not very good at DIY - Am I naieve in thinking I can remove tiles and re-tile without too many issues?
Any general information that could help me?
Thanks everyone,
RR

Not sure about the other stuff, but I think you're brave giving the tiling a go. I think it's one of those tasks that can easily look bad, so depends on whether it will bother you if it's not right. My DH is a competent DIYer but I wouldn't let him tile!0

Your "thinking" is on the light side I'm afraid. Just about, and only just doable if you can totally DIY, but by your own admission you will have to get someone in.
Check out full 2nd had kitchens on ebay, you may just find 1 that will fit your requirements, but the big issue for you will be labour I'm afraid.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
