Radio in my 02 Mk3 Mondeo has started to lose FM reception after 5-10 mins from switching on. AM reception is OK, so started to listen to R5live.

I believe it must be an internal fault in the unit. I've checked the aerial connection and nothing wrong at back of unit or at aerial in roof.

Is it worth getting a used unit if these units are unreliable due to their age? Most problems seem to be with the CD player, but I rarely listen to CDs.

Anyone know of alternative models that would fit?

  • You've got 3 options.
    1.Buy same secondhand
    2.Buy new from ford.
3.Buy single din with blanking plate.

Gap is 1.75 din which no-one else uses - double din will not fit.
Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.

Got a huge Buzz out of it.
