Help with installing new room thermostat!

Hi, we are in the process of replacing an old slider-style room thermostat with a digital one (Honeywell DT90E). We have replaced it and wired it in, but it seems to be having no effect at all on the central heating! The heating just carries on working at full blast even though the current temperature shows as being much higher than the temperature it is set for. Any ideas? Thanks for any advice :)

Not wired correctly? Is the heating demand 'flame' icon on all the time?

Have you connected the switched live out to 'C' rather than 'B'? Maybe stuck solenoid is keeping 'B' energised...

Having tried various wiring permutations, and I think we have fixed it now. Still not convinced that the temperature in my house is currently 26 degrees, which is what the thermostat says it is, but that's another story - will monitor over the next few days. Thanks for your advice :)

What was the make/model you replaced?

No, was a square-ish box, similar in size to the DT90E, with a sliding lever going across the bottom. No other control apart from the lever.

Its just a case of making sure that the wiring for the old one is the same or different than the new one.
