Faulty Girls Shoes - Lelli Kelly/Charles Clinkard

Hi all.
I am just after a bit of advice. I bought my daughter some Lelli Kelly school shoes on 16th August (worn from 7th Sept) from Charles Clinkard. They are plain black patent with velcro strap and a bow on the front. So far they have been fab. No scuffs etc and seemingly sturdy.
Today my daughter came out of school and the stitching on one of the bows has 'failed' meaning it is half hanging off. It is also probably now only a matter of time before the other part of the stitching comes loose and the whole thing falls off.
My question is, what are my rights? Am I entitled to have the store repair/replace them? I would be happy with repair as they are fine other than the bow.
Just wanted to check before I pop along.
TIA

They should last longer and you should speak to the retailer about repair or replacement but are bows etc a good thing on school shoes with all the playground rough and tumble.0

Thanks. They are sold as part of their school shoes range and the bow is made of patent leather and is quite 'chunky'. It isn't just a piece of ribbon for example. I shall see what they say.0 -

The actual shoe seems to be ok so as it's a bit of the 'decoration' see what they can come up with if you are otherwise happy with the shoe. Generally the patent Lelli Kelly shoes seem to last better than other patent styles from other manufacturers.
I thought the bows on the ones you've posted a link to looked quite robust, have seen them close up in the shops. I guess it depends how long you would be without the shoe while they are being repaired if you are happy with that.0 -
The sale of goods act gives you the right to a repair, replacement or refund for inherent faults. You can request which remedy you want, but can't force the store to do something that is more expensive than one of the other options so effectively they get to pick.
Also, since it is less than 6 months since purchase the fault will be assumed to be inherent unless they can prove otherwise. If they want to refuse to offer a remedy they will have to prove misuse.0 -

There is a style which has a set of straps with bows, straps with the brand name indented in them and straps with a silvery crown? If the straps can be switched could you not see if they can get you replacement straps? Or maybe the bow could be stitched back on if they sent them back to the manufacturer? I have posted a link above. I did research the reviews before buying because i have found the quality of Clarks in recent years not so good. They aren't the interchangeable straps.
Edited to add: apologies if this sounds 'abrupt' - wasn't my intention - was trying to sort out the children!0 -

Thanks. I will keep this in mind. As I say, I would be quite happy for them to be repaired as there is nothing wrong otherwise.0 -
We have gone for these for my daughter this year as she can trash a pair of school shoes in double quick time, last years didn't even see the school year out!

Just an update...
Took them in today and Clinkard's were great. They are replacing the shoes as they don't think their repairer will be able to do them enough to make them secure. They didn't have the shoe in stock so have had to order in which will take a week. In the meantime, I can keep the other pair and just 'stick' them so they look ok until the new ones turn up. The lady also wrote on the receipt that they had agreed this in case it was someone different when I go back.
Very pleased with the result so thanks for all the tips and advice. Just a shame they couldn't repair them as it is a 'waste'. I wonder what they do with them - hope they put them to good use!!0
