Credit card for improving rating?

I was going to post this on the DRO and IVA forum but it seems to be seldom used so thought I would try here first.
So I'm 9 months into my DRO, will be discharged in January. I have been told that, in order to improve my credit rating (I like to see it as starting afresh) I should apply for a high interest, bad credit, CC. Is this right?
If this is the case then which one is the best? I'm of the thinking that Vanquis are a no-no as they were named on the DRO? And is this really the best way to start things again or are there other ways?
Thanks in advance

Yes once your DRO is complete then this is a good idea.
There are reports of vanquis accepting people who had previously had debts included in bankruptcy etc but I'd probably try elsewhere first. This page might help http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/bad-credit-credit-cards
You may want to check your credit file is showing all your DRO debts as it should before you start (similar to the post bankruptcy credit file clean up - Credit Reference File Clean Up Post Bankruptcy edit or this is specific to DROs https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4739247 )A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
