Does anyone know where I can get the following out of print AQA A2 history book ...Britain 1851-1918: A Leap in the Dark?
by Michael Willis. We've tried all the usual websites with no luck.My friend needs it for her son for school and it appears to be as rare as rocking horse poo!!

The school's library should have copies if the school has mentioned this is a core text book, or the school themselves should have suppliers if they require students to get a book. Has her son asked the school where to get a copy? Otherwise, out of print books can be quite hard to find as they're generally only available when somebody else no longer needs them.0

The British Library has a copy which you can borrow by post. Also Oxford and Trinity Dublin if you have access.0

If you can't find it anywhere else, I'd try ringing the publisher - there is a small chance they might be reprinting, or republishing in another format - can't hurt to ask!0

How about asking people in the year above if they'd sell on their copies? And make sure the teacher knows it's out of print - s/he should have checked but might not have realised how hard it is to find.0

It's a long time since I was at school, but presumably they have to teach to the Department of Education curriculum and to the syllabus set by the exam board. If one or other of those makes an out of print book a requirement then surely they should either be changing the need to use that book or arranging with the publisher for more copies to be made available.0
