in Credit cards
I have a Barclaycard & a cap 1 credit card
I intend to use one of them to pay the deposit for a company to replace window & front/back doors so I am protected if they go belly up but didn't know which one to use

Assume you're referring to section 75 protection? If so, it doesn't matter which credit card you use.0

I just wondered if there was a cc which was easier to deal with if the need to claim ever arose0

In that case avoid Halifax at all costs.
When I tried repeatedly to make a s75 claim some years ago their final response was effectively: "The only we will pay up is after a County Court Judgement". Fortunately the retailer eventually paid up.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0 -
Afraid I can't comment about the cards you have, but I have made 2 section 75 claims
1) first direct gold : after fighting for months with the supplier of a not fit for purpose fireplace including CORGI reports, and getting nowhere, I had my money back within a week if contacting the credit card company.
2) marks and spencer credit card : I bought a multi trip ticket for speed ferries who then went out of business. M&S tried to use every trick in the book to avoid paying out. I gave up until I happened to see an article in the money pages where someone else had been fobbed off by them using exactly the same array of excuses, in the same order. Wound me up so much that I sent them the article and revived my claim. They finally made a without prejudice payment0
