Firefox keeps crashing

Hello, I'd be very grateful if anyone can help but please keep it simple as I'm not very techie!
I've been using Firefox for ages, but just last few days it keeps crashing all the time.
(I've had to go back to IE and I hate it.)
So I thought the best way to fix it probably just uninstall and re-install - I know how to do that.
BUT I don't know how/if I can save all my bookmarks if I do that.

Can anyone tell me how to save bookmarks, or suggest an alternative approach?

THANKS

Yes you can keep your bookmarks if you uninstall and reinstall (just make sure you don't tick the option to delete user data when uninstalling), but out of an abundance of caution I would export them first just in case.

That said, a reinstall is a little premature at this point; try what waddler_8 said first. If it doesn't crash in safe mode it's likely to be an extension causing the problem.
    What will your verse be?

"Bookmarks" - "Show all bookmarks" - "Import and backup" - "Backup" just to be safe
  • Oh, thanks so much for such quick replies.
I'm now trying firefox in safe mode; it hasn't crashed yet but I'll wait and see.
(Have also backed up my bookmarks, thanks!)
  • It wasn't a problem involving Flash was it? There seems to a problem with Adobe Flash and FF v23.

As it happens I've just downloaded FF v.24 not 5 minutes ago, so let's see if that makes any difference.
  • Just disabled all the add-ons and it seems to be working fine, thank you all
