Anyone know a better screen recording software than Fraps?

I'm trying to record the full screen output of a A/V mixing program (Virtual DJ), and not having much joy. Using it's built in encoder the video quickly goes way out of sync, and it's random too, so you can't just stretch it.
I've had fairly good results with Fraps. Good quality, stays in sync, then randomly about two minutes into the video it just loses it and starts alternating between two frames.
Anyone know any other good programs I can try. I don't really care what format the video is, even uncompressed video is fine as I'll just re-encode it later.
Bonus complication: The software outputs to full screen on the second monitor. I don't want to record the primary monitor.

One I've seen mentioned on here is Camtasia (?)
Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?
I know nothing about it is my get out clause.:)Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Might do it with VLC:

VLC looks like a viable option, didn't know it could do that.
Going to need a bit of tinkering to make it capture the video window however. I'll need to play a bit more.0 -
Snagit can do video recording.
If you're serious about it look at Camtasia Studio or Articulate Storyline. Though they cost serious money.0 -
I'm not serious about it at all, and unwilling to spend money.
This is to work around bugs in one piece of software and make a stupid video based around a joke on a forum, that I've already spent far too much time on. You can see where Fraps screwed up part way in: http://youtu.be/hSeW_WEZEw00
