You may be finding it easier not to tell her. But until you talk to her, you will have no idea of how she will perceive the impact. And you may well deprive yourself of the opportunity to do those things you hadn't thought of which she might tell you will reduce the impact for her.

I know you don't intend it, but you are coming across as terribly arrogant. Not so much for building the conservatory but for presuming to know better than she does that you cannot reduce the impact on her.

This is not so much as me perceiving you as arrogant - it is more a warning that she will see you this way. If you don't tell her about it and don't give yourself the opportunity to hear those things you could do to reduce impact, you run a high risk of soured relations for the rest of your time as neighbours.
