Requesting original terms and cons

If you request original terms and conditions that applied when you started a service (i.e virginmedia) are they obliged to send it to you when requested or do you HAVE to send it in via subject access request?

I don't think they have to send it to you, although many companies will.
In the case of a service contract you'd also need to see any updates to the terms that have been sent out to you since the start of the agreement so if you do ask for the terms don't forget to ask for copies of all updates sent out.
