old abbey national stepped bonds

Hi I have found some old abbey national stepped bonds that my father had gorgotton he had. Can anyone help us where to take them. Santander dont seem to want to help. Cheers

    Stepped bonds could be a number of different products. Most of which would have long matured and have no value.

    This leads on to asking why Santander dont want to know? Is it because they have nil value and have been long gone?

    Also, can you clarify what type of product it is?
