I have got a wireless router and setup mac filtering on it, I have configured the router to accept my wireless devices.
Can I still plug a laptop straight into the router or do I have to make sure its mac enabled???

mac is a unique address given to each piece of networking equipment - tbh not worth switching it on, on the router as it takes seconds to spoof a mac address.0

If any network hardware was connected to it and the mac address isnt ennabed in the config then it wouldnt get access.
and as black sheep points out spoofing mac addreses is pretty easy.0 -
you need to encrypt it to make it secure, mac address filtering is an extra step you could use to frustrate hackers, but the encryption is the most important bit to doEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
