4 Person Joint Current Account

HI,

Does anyone know if any banks will open a current account with 4 account holders, Santander will only open with a maximum of 2.

Thanks

  • Natwest used to allow up to 50 joint account holders.

Remember that you get financially associated with all of these people so if any have bad credit history they will drag you down too

I wanted one of these when I was living in a shared house. We thought 'joint account for bills' where we all had authority.

Problem is - it was always 'one signature' unless you headed to a club account - so any one of us could just run away with the money. So we had an easier solution - one person has the bills in their name and the account in their name and others' pay in.

That way - if the person owning the account does a runner - the others aren't liable.

I wouldn't want to be linked financially to 3 other people! If one gets defaults/CCJs that's your credit rating ruined!

If it's for a shared house nominate one person to take charge of bills, so put their name on the bills, everyone pays money into that account and it all goes out. I've done this numerous times in shared houses.
  • Thanks for the advice, need the account as we have just been left a property in an aunt's will. Thought it would be good to open a joint account for all the bills.

Think a 1 person account and get them to pay in is the best way to go.

    Thanks again.
