Parking restrictions proposal outside my house
Hi everyone,
Im new to here, so hope im doing this right.
Ok so I got a letter through my door this morning with a proposal to put a parking restriction for 'no waiting at any time' outside my home (both sides) currently it is a single yellow, but a few years back they put a double yellow only to remove it after complaints a few weeks later.
Our road only has 7 houses and a pub on the end. However parking is a nightmare already, with all the nearby roads full already. Ive heard that if I appeal it that my reasons have to be for safety rather than just complaining that we will have nowhere to park. But I have no idea where to start and what to include. Can anyone give me any advise or suggestions please? Its so difficult to park outside our house as it is, as most people parking don't even live on this road. The reasons they have given is for emergency services and police have asked for the restrictions. Thank you in advance for any help

Sounds like what you need is to try and persuade the council to set up a residents parking scheme.
Nice little earner for them, and hopefully gets all the pub customers off your street. Win/win.0 -
This is what complaining too much can get you.
Too many unwanted cars parking in street = complaints to council to sort out parking problem. Double yellow lines = problem solved!
Be careful what you wish for...0 -
I'm curious as to what safety issues there could be double yellow lines0

This ^^
You probably have a non-driving, OAP whinge bag to thank for this. They're experts at getting their own way on stuff like this, the proposals have probably been in the back of the local rag (which they know nobody reads).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
