Poor experience with Experian Credit Expert

I have been a happy customer of Equifax's credit report monitoring services for around 6-8 months whilst clearing up my credit report and wanting to have visibility of it up until I apply for a mortgage.

I have raised 4 queries concerning data in my report that was correct and in each instance they have contacted the creditor on my behalf to outline the mistake and the creditor has resolved the issue and my report has been updated very quickly and with no hassle.

Enter Experian Credit Expert, which I signed up to as I bought the £2 statutory report and found 2 duplicated defaults on the report (these had been previously reported to Equifax and the company in question had responded to say that the dupes should be deleted, which they were from Equifax & Callcredit). Credit Expert has no service to query data on the report, if you contact them they will take over 2 weeks to respond and just tell you to contact the creditor yourself (tricky as it is Egg, whose closed accounts are now handled by Canada Square Operations and I can only find a POBOX address for them).

I was extremely surprised that Experian charge far more than Equifax and offer a very poor service in comparison. Has anyone else had similar experiences?
If it doesn’t move, and it should, use WD-40. If it moves, and it shouldn’t, use duct tape!

Equifax and Experian both charge £2 for a statutory report.

    Have to agree, pants
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Yes, I'm aware of that. As I mentioned, I used the statutory report experian one. I found that the £8.95 a month for Equifax was more than worth it given how helpful they were in getting incorrect information resolved. My post merely compares this service to the vastly more expensive and infinitely less useful experian monthly service.
