Redundancy and JSA

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help, I may be made redundant at the end of next month and will come out with about 30k will I still be able to claim JSA? I never never claimed in my life and am 45 years old so I have NO idea how all of this works! Thanks :-)

    You should be able to claim conts based JSA for 26 weeks - if you're actively seeking work.

    Thank you, so it does not matter how much my husband earns or how much we have in savings?

    Not for conts based (it's your entitlement from paying national insurance contributions). After that household income is taken into account.

    That is good news, thank you! sprry one more question, is it a set anmount for everyone?

    If you're over 25 it's £71.70 per week.
