Hi all
Oh dear with all the stress of our baby I forgot my car insurance...
Our insurance is with the green car insurance and they just auto renewed its gone from £30 quid a month to £50 quid...
Blimey!!!
I guess if I cancel I have to pay a cancellation fee...
And also I am worried what car insurance will take me on in an IVA??
Ive been on gocompare and there are some car insurances for less than 20 quid a month but will they accept me?
What car insurance companies are IVA friendly guys?
Thanks
Marcus

...I was able to go-monthly last time with no agro whatsoever. I have heard that this is not always the case, and of course this must vary company to company.0

I've changed insurers three times in my IVA, pay monthly and never been declined. Maybe I've been lucky.0

This has been my experience too. I'm in the last few (phew...?!!) months of my IVA - long slog. But car insurance is a legal requirement, so it is unlikely that any IVA provider of repute will deny you that. My insurance is about the same as yours (around £46 per month, as I had an accident 4 years ago).
If in any doubt, contact your IVA provider and explain the situation - they may be able to review your repayment amounts in light of the increased insurance premium. You won't know if you don't ask...
And please don't beat yourself up for 'panicking' or 'assuming the worst'. I have been where you are now and done exactly the same. It speaks very highly of your morals and determination to sort out your finances that you are so bothered by this.
Very best wishes to your and your family for the future. You're on the right track. Not, by any means, the easy track - but the right one and the way to a better future in the longer term.
Keep smiling! xxx0 -
My car insurance is due now to, green car company are the cheapest according to confused. I remember last year that no company related to Hastings would provide me with pay monthly, just happened to be about the best 10 quotes. Hopefully if gcc insure me al be 8pcm better off
just 17pcm now for my wee banger
Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017 :beer:0 -
Hastings policies keep coming top of all quotes, and change daily. What a performance to get a quote! Two 30 minute calls so far on 0844 numbers. Beware!0

I'm just approaching the end of my second year of my IVA. During the first year my insurance came up for renewal and it never crossed my mind that I wouldn't be able to pay monthly (perhaps a bit naive) and I got refused. Luckily I was able to borrow off my parents and pay the full year up front and repay them monthly.
However, I tried again come renewal time during my second year (before cancelling this time!) and I was accepted for the monthly payment option - with Hastings Direct. Which some other posters have said refused them.
I think as always with car insurance, if your face fits on a given day you'll get a good quote and be able to pay monthly.
Best of luck.0
