So fed up!

I got my ppi complaint upheld and they are paying me £3k but I am still awaiting the money! I have read on MSE that in reality it can be 8-12 weeks. Thing is I have lost my job and I need this money to help pay the mortgage. I have told them this by ringing 3 times and still nothing! They took a month with letters going back and forth just to confirm my signature as I no longer have an account with them! They have not even contacted me to tell me how I will receive the money as I no longer have an account with them. Everytime I ring up they tell me it with the payments team but I cannot speak to the payments team.

Has anyone else had this issue with them?

On the plus side I found out I had a Intelligent Finance loan in 2001 and I have the paperwork and there was ppi. Rang them last week and they said I was on the list of people that could have been missold ppi so they are looking into it.

Have you considered making a claim on the PPI policy as that would cover redundancy.

  • I'm still waiting to see if I get redress from them, but supposed to be getting an answer by 10 October.

Surely if you no longer have an account, you will just get a cheque?

How long have you been waiting for payment so far?

My husband is having problems extracting a payment from Barclays - firstly they told him he'd been put in the wrong queue, then they said that they hadn't managed to make the BACS payment so they would send a cheque within a week, a week later they said it would be a further two weeks. Who knew banks would have such trouble with banking....

Well they did say 28 days but it has been about 3 weeks now, they just seem to be dragging their heels!

Oh my gosh sounds like you have hassle from Barclays then too. I hope you get your money soon :)

Yeah I know but I have rang and told them I am desperate as I don't have a job. Obviously they don't care :(

I just hope its not over the 28 days I mean how can they get away with telling people 28 days when in reality they know it could take longer. I mean come on how hard is it to do a cheque,I know they are busy but they are happy to take your money but not good at giving it back :(

You really can do nothing until 28 days are up, even then they won't be in any hurry to pay out-you can expect the cheque to arrive via second class post.
  • Did you get your cheque yet? I put in my acceptance last week so just at the start of the wait. I note it says 28 working days, so more like 5.5 actual weeks, potentially.
