I want to apply for one of these cards for the balance transfer deals and was wandering which has the better chance of success of approval and getting the advertised rate
I have a good credit history - any advice welcome as I don't want more than one search in my credit history

We really cannot advise you here - do you have any accounts with Lloyds or NatWest?
If so they might give you an indication without a credit search if you are eligible for one of their cards.
A lot more information here.0 -
I do have a current account with Natwest that I occassionally use and also have a citibank account who are affiliated with Lloyds as you can pay money into Lloyds as Citi dont have a high street presence
anyway still not sure which one to go for- anyone got any experience of either one and which I am most likely to get accepted for?0 -
Having an account with Citibank will have no bearing on a Lloyds credit card application.
As you have a NW account can you log into their Internet banking to see if there are any card offers for you?
Certainly in branch Lloyds can only process credit cards to existing customers.0 -
So I applied for the RBS card and was given an estimated credit limit of £480 which was a joke - I was taken to the credit card agreement page but have not signed it yet - what happens if I don't sign it and just log out - has the application already gone through and credit searches done? It does say on the bottom of the same page that they may obtain information from credit reference agencies etc - does that mean they have not done that yet and I can exit the application process due to the poor credit limit
I have since applied for the Lloyd's card who offered me a £3000 limit and took balance transfer and direct debit details etc and said they would contact me in 4 days and let me have a decision - I assumed it was approved but I guess there are final checks they need to do
This stuff is a headache and my credit rating is excellent but as I moved home recently that may have affected a decision
Just curious whether I have the RBS search on file now I guess I can subscribe to experience to check0 -
To have given you an estimated limit I suspect they have already done a credit check.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
