no it wont at all, it'll only improve loading time, and not ingame performance (and not all games will have much benefit from them)
While an SSD is nice to have, its something that can be added later easily and should be chosen over a decent GPUatrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »16GB memory who cares if its overkill its in the build, and something you dont have to do in the future is upgrade that.
There is no game that'll use more than 8GB of ram, so having double will have no improvement. 8GB is plenty for the usage, so having extra is just a waste a money, money that can be spent on other things that'll give a bigger improvementatrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »i5 haswell, 4th gen processor nothing to turn your nose up at.
While it'll be nice to have, most games are gpu limited, so if your GPU cant keep up, having a better cpu will not help
the difference between the haswell and the sandybridge/ivybridge for gaming is very smallatrixblue.-MFR-. wrote: »ive had AMD ATI and Nvidia must say NVidia ticks the boxes for me as i dont have to try and enable physx on the processor when i want pretty graphics.
gtx 650 ti will do nicely for COD games battlefield etc.
physx doesn't actually give prettier graphics, its used for improved physics calculations
the GTX650 is only a basic gpu, the GTX760 is far superior and is only £100 difference in price.
and it'll make the biggest impact to gaming performance.
if you can, take the 760 over the 660, the 760 is better and a newer generation, and is similar in price, they both sell for about £200
while its nice to have a decent all round computer, its not worth sacrificing the gpu to obtain it0 -

beg to differ with phys x

i think you misunderstand what phys x actually is
its a Physics API that can be run on the hardware of the card, and used to improve the speed of certain physics calculations. This means some games can have improved physics in the game. This can take many forms but is usually used for better movement of objects (or more objects)
It doesn't improve the rendering side at all.
its actually a shame its mainly used for purely cosmetic stuff (althou its perfectly understandable)0 -
the OP will then have to upgrade his power supply for a GTX 760. running on 200wat max 1x8pin 1x6pin power connections. the 550wat in that case wont do, it only has 1x pci e 6pin on single 12v rail.0

the GTX760 actually uses less power than the 660, so if the 660 is fine, then so will the 760.
it'll run on a decent 550W PSU0 -

sorry but a 550 will struggle to power GTX760 with 1x8 1x6 pin requirement, my hyper typeM 580W wouldnt cope with the gtx560 2x6 pin had to disconnect needless things such as molex fans and secondary dvd drive to power it.
probably a low end card gtx 660 with one pcei 6 pin will be fine with a 550w..0 -
thats not surprising, the Hyper typeM only delivers 30A down both rails (which is the minimum for the gpu to run)
the corsair VS550 delivers 42A down a single rail, which is more than enough power.
And as i said, the 760 uses less power than a 660 as its more efficient.0
