Self employed. What happens if i lose my job?

Hi
Can anyone give me any help or advice. I am a single mum of 2 wonderful kids and work self-employed receiving WTC/CTC.
I do not get any maintenance from NRP and have basically give up chasing the CSA as I have phoned them on a weekly basis every week for the last two years and not a thing has changed since the first phone call.
Anyway, the place I have been working at over the last few months (resident) is slowly but surely going downhill and I suspect that it is only a matter of time before it all goes wrong and the place will shut down. I am constantly looking for work but I am so worried about what will happen if i lose work and cannot find anything immediately.
I have a mortgage and would not know what to do if i lose my house.
I have attempted an SOA and have tried to cut things down in fine detail from every single aspect but it seems the only things i am paying for are bills and life's essentials.
I am aware that I could not claim benefits (and would not want to anyway!) is there anything i can do at all. Getting seriously worried!
Thanks in advance.

You can take out redudancy insurance though as SE you would have to wind up trading and produce final accounts. the obvious thing to do is go and find new work. Thats what I have to do.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0

thanks absolute
yes I am focused at the moment constantly searching for work, when I am not at work that is! i was not aware you could be made redundant if you were self employed? I have considered to cease trading and find employment but that is not looking to hopeful at the moment. Just want to be aware of where i stand rather than end up in hot water. i am a natural worrier but just trying to be sensible about the future. i have worked my finger to the bone to get my house and it would be devestating to lose it.I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D0
