How much carpet do I need?

I am not sure how to measure up and calculate how much carpeting I need to replace my lounge/dining/hall.
Just want to have an idea so that I know how much it is likely to cost me. Looking on line I don't see many price per meter. Last time around I bought Ryalux and recall that it was pretty expensive
I would also like suggestions regarding other brands of carpet. I would be looking to buy a twist 80% wool 20% synthetic,
Hall measures 20' 2" X 6' 3"
Lounge 29'7" X 13'4" narrowing to 10' in the dining room
Even if someone can give me a rough idea I would appreciate it. Don't want to get someone out to measure up as I have not finally decided that I can afford to renew it.
My current carpet is not in bad condition just really would like a change of colour etc.
Would redecorate the hall as well The lounge decor is fresh as it was done a year or so ago. Having just redecorated my bedroom/en suite change of fairly recently I now would like to do my hallway and also one of my spare rooms.
Feel that the decorator I used is pretty expensive. A friend who also had some decorator done for the first time by a new one. She is very pleased with his work and if fact said he was better. She paid £189 less for the work. I have asked him to quote me and will also get a quote from the decorator I have been using.
This is all jumbled but I hope some of you will be able to give me some advice. Many thanks!! It is the old story of do one thing and everything else look tends to look like it needs doing !

I am a bit stupid so was unable to work out how much carpet I need
Spoke to a local Company this am and it is a lot with a lot of waste
Lounge needs 46m and the hall 25m so a total of 71m
I would have a lot of waste using a carpet at £30 for a good quality carpet with underlay £2840
Ryalux which is what I have at the moment they will make the carpet to fit and it costs £55m so a total of £3347 so £507 more not that much difference.
The store said that Rylux is the only carpet that is made in widths to fit so less waste.
Anyone who has any idea I would appreciate I did not expect it to be as much as this. I want to decorate my hall but if not changing the carpet would leave it for a year or so.
Info would be appreciated ! Thanks

Most carpets are made in multiples of a metre (e.g. 3m wide, 4m or 5m). So it would be easier to measure the rooms in metres.

Then round the size up to the next metre above, and you have the area you need.

If it's an awkward shaped room, you might end up with a huge pile of offcuts at the end. If you don't mind a join across the carpet somewhere, the fitters may be able to use a narrower carpet, and then use an off-cut strip from one bit of the room to do another.

Any good carpet shop should be able to send round a fitter/surveyor to measure up and give you a quote.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Thanks I have never had a join in my carpets and do understand that there will be a lot of waste unless I buy Ryalux which can be made to fit or as near so therefore the minumum of waste. Given the costs I am going to get the current carpet cleaned for now and leave it until next year.
