Wasps coming in!

Woke early, opened living room and kitchen windows to get some air in, went to the loo and came out to find about six wasps in the place. Obviously looking for some heat as they flew around the hall lights! Aaargh. Cue bursts of wasp spray. Hate this time of year. Last year I had about 20 of them buzzing round the uplighter in the living room.
I know the only solution is to keep the windows shut but it's unseasonably warm - now hoping for a cold spell.

Put an old unwashed jam jar with some water in it just outside (window ledge).0

Also had wasp problems this year, didn't help with the plum tree not far from the house. Bought a cheap hand held insect killer, battery operated like a small tennis racket, ideal for wasps but flys are often too quick for me
