Morning all, finally a big bit of money saving that I can actually stick in the siggy!
Last night my ever wonderful OH and MIL kindly picked up and delivered my new bed from Hudderfield all the way to Wilmslow saving me £50 delivery charge, and then they did a second run to transport my new Chesterfield from my dads office back to my house. He's had it since before I was born and I've had my eye on it ever since. This has saved me £100 on buying one off ebay (£100 being the limit I imposed on myself when I was watching hundreds of the things and before my dad said "you can have mine your mother hates it":rotfl:) and £70 it would have cost to hire a van and got and fetch it.
So I make that £50 + £100 + £70 - £4.50 in cakes for the workersthere was so much heavy lifting they needed the sugar
= £215.50Now that was a very money saving Monday
And Just to polish it off, I got an email from Noddle saying how you could save money on amazon purchases by using Flubit? You c&p the direct web address to the thing you were buying on amazon and they trawl the deepest darkest corners of the internet to find it for you cheaper
Now, my darling OH has been in her role for almost 1 year and thus requires an anniversary present. She had been making noises about wanting an ICE watch for AGES!!!! Constantly trying them on in department stores, and even on holiday! Sadly Gibraltar wasn't any cheaper than Amazon so being the fellow Martin-worshipper that she is, she resigned herself to saving up amazon vouchers and bagging one that way. However, she is useless, and instead spent all her vouchers on crates of champagne that were on a ridiculously cheap offer (can't say I blame her). To make matters worse she wanted this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008GSB7F0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE and the pink face and added sparkly bits made it even more expensive with an RRP of £135  Miraculously Amazon have had it at around £80 for the last 3 months, but my TopCashBack account was taking forever to become payable. So I figured I'd give Flubit a go, and see what it shaved off.....
It shaved off another £11! Leaving me £69 to pay for a £135 watch!:money: And £11 was a far bigger 12% discount than the 5% bonus for cashing out my cashback to amazon vouchers. So I bit the bullet and whacked it on my Avios Amex (earn avios + protected online shopping
) for a total saving of £66! I've actually got a 49% discount on rrp :T
And just to make it an even sweeter deal, I've checked my TCB account and it's all moved to payable this morning :rotfl: So now I can cash out that and pay the £69 off my card straight awaySo eventually when the funds clear it will have cost me absolutely nothing
:money: and I will win serious brownie points with the Mrs
:T But for now I will just count the £66 saving
So thats £215.50 + £66 = £281.50 to add to the siggyDebt@LBM1=£4050 1st DFD 27/08/09Debt @LBM2 =£14,469.97 2nd DFD 14/03/2018 :T

Just added £50 that has been paid to me as money owed from ages ago.0 -
I'm at home in the USA for about ten days.
I've sold $75 worth of items on Craig's List (like the Gumtree) and found 65 cents roadkill at a pumpkin patch event. Husband was mortified when, spurred on by this find, I started looking elsewhere nearby LOL.
I'm waiting for an overtime payment to come through.
I'm almost up to the threshold for another Dooyoo payout, and am earning several dollars a week with Instagc. I'm also getting a few cents from Clixsense, but I dont include this amount unless I have the cash in my hands
Happy last week-and-a-bit of the month!Your biggest asset is TIME! I'm focused on multi-generational financial freedom.0 -
Hi All,
I really need to post on here more often. I always read every post and think I'll work out my totals and post it later but then get side tracked.
Anyway, I have a lovely total of £714.18 to report :j:j
This total is a combination of grocery savings, selling books and unwanted tickets, winnings, expenses, gifts, road kill (from step daughters bedroom when she moved out - didn't want to take her small change) and 3 separate lots of free tickets for racing events and Ideal Home Xmas Show.
Not sure that I've managed to pay all of this off debts but at least it has made sure that I have not increased my debt
On the road kill front I think I must live close to HOK3Y as I'm sure that she must go round Asda in front of me as no matter how hard I look - and I do look hard - I never seem to find any cash or receipts BUT I do spend less as I concentrate more on finding road kill and not on the items in the shop :rotfl: so thanks HOK3Y.
Chez xThat money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"0
