No Tesco Clubcard but still get "£40 of Tesco Deals" for £1000 in Tesco savings acc?

Hi,
I know I'll seem like an idiot, here, but is it a necessity to have a Clubcard at the time of the opening of the Tesco "Instant Access Savings" account?
As there wasn't any mention in the "Free £40 of Tesco Deals" article or the "Martin's Money Tips" e-mail of having to include your Clubcard no. in the account application procedure, in order to get the 1000 pts./£10, I, stupidly, didn't apply for a Clubcard. There isn't a Tesco near me, so I can't easily get an application form.
I've just registered with Tesco.com and have requested a Clubcard catalogue (with application form) but will there be enough time to receive an official Clubcard number, before the 19th?
Needing a Clubcard number sounds so obvious, now, the more I think about it. Idiot.
I hope the more enlightened of the rest of you can help.
Thanks.

Ta.
Will do. I just hope, as they're swamped, they'll take the date of application for the savings account into account i.e. opening the account before the 19th, as required, so I can claim the points/pounds.0 -
Isn't it too late to open this account now. You need to have the £1000 in the account by 30th June to get the points. they'll need to do all the identity checks before its even opened.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

whats latest date people suggest giving tesco a cheque in store ( top up to 1000.00) in order for it to clear by 30th june, i presume store have to post cheque on so clearance time wont count till cheque is received at cheque processing point.0

Takes eight business days for a cheque to clear that is paid in in the store, which by my reckoning means would need to have been paid in yesterday to clear by 30th.0

takes " up to 8 working days for a cheque to clear" i paid a cheque in at customer services desk on tuesday, i asked how it gets to cheque processing point, was told someone comes and takes the cash and cheques at all times of day, they cant be specific cos of security issues.
i also paid in 40.00 cash at customer services desk on tuesday , i checked by machine and was showing in my account today ( wednesday)
customer services lady told me cheques normally clear in 3 working days, they say " up to 8 working days" cos in theory cheques can come back unpaid during this period.
ill be moving funds back out on 2nd july0
