I can remember offering to make a cake for my mum's birthday once.

After a few sleepless nights, it eventually entailed ....

    me buying ready-made birthday cake
me buying a tube of ready-mixed pink icing
    me buying some decorations
me icing the words "Happy Birthday Mum" badly AND spelling the word "birthday" wrong.
me sprinkling some silver balls, Smarties and glitter all over the cake
me proudly offering "home-made" cake to mum.
Mum very kindly saying that it was the best cake she'd ever tasted, despite knowing full well that I hadn't been anywhere near a mixing bowl. :D

Hope you have a lovely birthday!

  • My kids are 25 and 27. I finally gave up waiting for someone else to do it this year and made my own cake. My own fault for giving birth to boys....
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

Feeling very blessed. DD (7) cooked sticky chicken wings for tea and choc brownies with a peanut butter layer for pud. OH helped, but he was quite impressed with how well she followed the recipes. They tasted darn good too:-)
    Bless our kids.
