they don't have to pay for the legal advice(most do).

without the legal advice you can still have a case.

hold out for at least the same as those being made redundant

the compromise is you go quitely
  • Are you off sick now then and have you been off sick for a substantial period because being off for small periods over a year wouldn't normally allow dismissal to be fair.

Was off sick for 6 weeks over a year

The company might pay for legal advice? is that what your saying?

How can I hold out for more money, say i want more or wait for the week notice they have given me and they will get back to me with another offer?

I cannot see dismissing you for this being anywhere near reasonable, unless you hit trigger points laid out in the contract unluckily its seems harsh.

Get some proper advice IMO. Might even be worth paying for an hours advice (just don't get realed in to spending hundreds/thousands)
Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked

Do you have another job to go to ?
If not and you sign a contract kill notice, you will not get any unemployment benefits as you will have made yourself intentionally unemployed.
    Be happy...;)

Apparently over 4 weeks is excessive, despite being signed off work by GP.

There seam to be lots of places with a free first half hour, will try one of them tomorrow. Looks like I may have to borrow money to make sure i'm fairly treated, sucks.

No I don't and dont feel motivated and ready to run straight into another one.

I did not think of that, i've never claimed job seekers before but 300 a month + council tax reduction makes their offer even less appealing. thanks
