Energy Experts

Options
Just who are all these energy experts that predict energy prices are going to rise or fall? I'm looking to switch, but can find no 'experts' who will give me the lowdown on what is going to happen to prices.
Apart from Martin, who says they are 'almost' certain to rise soon and a spattering of newspaper reports, quoting 'experts', I can find nothing that helps me in my choices.
It's all a gamble isn't it? Should I fix and watch prices fall or rise and feel smug :D or should I go on a standard tariff?
I know down to the last penny and kWh what we spend/use and am now trying to research what the experts say...but who are they? :cool2:

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to know that energy prices will continue to rise, the only question is when and by how much.

Ed Milimarx recent announcement serves to make it even more certain.

martin doesn't know, like others just going off past years that they will
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Less "cheap to extract" oil to be found meaning that it now will cost more to get the stuff out of the ground. You would be amazed how much water content some oil wells now get in the oil - sometimes it's mostly water out of which the oil has to be separated - they are that desperate.
Our ancient infrastructure and power generation equipment finally having to be renewed and paid for...nothing having been done for decades.
Additional costs of Green/carbon taxes & subsidies on renewables etc, etc.

So yes energy prices are on their way up endlessly long term though of course there may well be short term dips and rises in that trend.

We have all collectively had the years of cheap power through low oil prices and doing no renewal of equipment like power stations nuclear and other. Now like the home owner who does no maintenance on their property for decades we start facing the bills and it's time to pay up.

    Regards
One who worked in manufacturing power generation equipment but sold hardly anything in the UK - 'twas all exported because the UK plc was simply not interested in renewing/upgrading stuff while other countries were.
..and the blame for this - the UK electors ie the general public.
