Steam cleaning grouting?

Just curious but before I commit to one can anyone vouch for how well a hand steam cleaner works with cleaning grouting?

Cheers

  • I can't comment on hand held ones but I have a karcher floor model and I was amazed at how well it cleaned the grouting on the kitchen floor.

Buy a spray called HG,they sell it at the range amongst other stores,i use the bathroom one for my shower and it is the best thing ever that works,i think you can buy a kitchen one as well.If you can stand a bleachy smell for a while it really works.

Mine is a cheapie and works brilliantly. If the grouting is grim, dab some neat bleach on it immediately prior to steaming.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • I have used this cleaner and it is very good. It has all the properties of a caustic solution and will bleach clothes and irritate ypor skin.

I used a steamer that said it would attack and clean grout but it did not work for me.

borrowed a karcher of a friend for bathroom tiles.....yes it cleaned them...but lots of steam/condensation
a simple spray on cleaner would have done the same job
  • Bleach and an old toothbrush works well

We used a steam cleaner (little yello)on the grouting in the student flat where my daughter was living.
It worked very well and also did well on the floor tiles.
It was very useful for the bits of food stuck to the carpet in the kitchen too.
Best thing, it defrosted the massively over frozen fridge and freezer so a steamer is useful for more than just grouting.
