prudential investment plan

just been advised to invest in prudential investment plan is this a good move as I have a good bit of money to invest ?
its called PRUFUND CAUTIOUS AC ?

    Probably not, post more details of the sums involved, how long you are looking to invest, attitude to risks Nd who you have spoken to and you might get some good feedback.

    This won't be advice though, you'll need to pay for that.

    That fund is available in the life assurance tax wrapper. In the pecking order of things, that comes below S&S ISA. After the S&S ISA is used up, an adviser should look at the next most suitable option. On most occasions that would be unwarpped unit trust/OEIC (basic/non rate taxpayers who dont use their annual CGT allowance). Larger amounts could favour an investment bond or where you are close to higher rate tax (or already in it but wont be at a later date) or if a trust is being used.

    So, have you been recommended so much goes into an S&S ISA with the surplus going into the investment bond or is the recommendation to only go into the investment bond?
