HSBC Secondary Account

Hello ALL,

Is it true that one can't open HSBC Account if he/she will use it as a secondary account . My wife went to HSBC and one of the manager told her that she can't open an account if she will be using it as a second account.

Never heard of this before , is this true ?

Thanks.

HSBC are known to be funny about this. If she really must have an HSBC account then just open it online.

But I don't know why anyone would want to use HSBC either as a primary or secondary account ... you're much better off with Nationwide / Santander / TSB / Lloyds / Bank of Scotland / Halifax.

Only one good reason I can think of - their Reg Saver. Still pays 4% AER, and only way you can have it is if you have a current account with them.

To the OP: has your wife tried applying online?
