Tell them to get it looked at before someone gets hurt!0

Is this confirmed on your death certificate? If not, it is unlikely you have been electrocuted, more likely you suffered a non fatal electric shock.touched their metal wall light switch, with my hand. and got electrocuted for about 2 secondsYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
If you still feel unwell, you need to have a heart trace check up, a mild shock can disrupt your heart pace leaving rather unwell.Be happy...;)0

You didn't get electrocuted otherwise you wouldn't have written the above post afterwards! You received an electric shock. Have a read of this thread/post for an explanation:

As to the buzzing you felt, it may be due to a contact voltage on the light switch plate. If it isn't earthed properly, this would explain why you felt the buzzing. Do you know if the lighting circuits are protected by an RCD?If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

I've had several electric shocks. I've always felt Ok after a few minutes although my arm has sometimes felt 'odd' for an hour or two.0

I don't think pedantic technicalities really matter here do they, the cause is the same, faulty electrics.
The switch can't be earthed and there must be a live connection to the back box/metal switch. This is where RCD's come into play
It needs urgent attention, as in :eek::eek:
Unless you had a hand on the central heating system or similar at the same time you would have been unlikely to have had a severe shock, luckily.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I have metal light switches and all have an earth connection. Obviously wheoever wired the house had the sense to run an earth to each switch box as well in case metal switches were fitted.cyclonebri1 wrote: »The switch can't be earthedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
