Our lawn is being eaten from within - by cranefly larvae
I think that the only answer is to employ several million namatodes - unless it is too late
Any advice welcome
Cranefly (daddy longlegs) lay their egg which pupate into HUNGRY larvae which then munch on the grass roots - leaving large expanses of dead grass !!

Try the old trick of laying a plastic sheet or tarp on the grass overnight , lift it in the morning and the larvae can be gathered up unless the blackbirds that love them get there first. do the lawn in stages. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0
