My wifi speeds have dropped on my pc

Checked my speeds yesterday as a game I'm downloading seems to be taking forever and I'm only getting 1mbps.
I usually get around 5-6 Mbps, when I did a test on my phone it come to over 5.

I've recently done a reinstall of win 7 but I updated all the drivers. Anyone know what else to look at?

wifi speeds can often fluctuate and are effected by interference.

the test on your phone, was it downloading the same game from the same place ?
or just a random speed test

What other devices are connected to your internet connection?

Were you doing something else online at the same time?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

  • connect by ethernet to do a test, then you will know where the fault is

  • Hi
Best place to look is at your router stats the KITZ websites tells you how to do this.
You can see what has happened and get lots of odd information.

  • The tests quite often allow the server to be chosen. Make sure that your reading is coming from the optimum source.
It happened to me a couple of weeks ago & it made me feel rather foolish when I discovered my mistake.

Also you must be hard-wired when running the test (R232) with no other items connected.

Try changing the wireless channel on your router-use SSIDer to find the best channel.
