Load foreign credit card with money

I have a friend in another country where it's the norm to have a credit card that works like a pay-as-you-go credit card. You effectively put money onto it and then you can use it as a regular (Visa) credit card and spend up to the amount remaining on the credit card.

I want to put some money onto it for my friend. Does anyone know how I go about doing this as it's not something i've done before?

    Ask your friend?
I think it has to be either a bank transfer (that will cost you as it's international for you) or a debit card payment.

To be honest, a debit card payment makes no sense to me as it is just easier to use the debit card for payments instead.

Are you sure it's not just a primitive prepaid card?: Prepaid Cards

^ It does sound like a prepaid card. I know my friend transfers money onto it using her bank account.

Sounds very much like a pre paid card, theres quite a few out there. You need to know the details linked to the card to load it I guess.

    It is a PrePaid card.
Credit cards in some other EU countries are still credit cards, in that you can spend in advance of paying. But often they function more like a Charge card, wherein you pay the balance in full at regular intervals. Then they have the PrePaid cards as described earlier.
