Overhead Electric Cables across garden
Hello, I am not sure if this is the right board to post on but was after some advice or direction on who to speak to please.
We have 3 low hanging insulated power cables going diagonally acrosss our garden running from a pole behind our garden to a lower pole in our garden. 2 of the cables serves our neighbours property as she has economy 7 heating and just one does ours. Whilst we have been assured by the electricity board they are perfectly safe they did agree they hang low and have quoted us to move them underground. We have to dig the trench ourselves and supply ducting.
Our issue is that along our road everyone else seems to have underground cables and we are actually serving our neighbours property with 2 low hanging cables plus our own.
Does anyone know whether we could insist on the pole in our garden being moved in which case they would have to find somewhere else to put it? From what I understand there is no wayleave agreement in place either. Not only is it extremely ugly but from our point of view a worry (even though apparently they are safe), when our children are playing out the back (particularly with balls and inflatable swimming pools!).
Any helpful advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

How high is 'low'? What actual height are they at the lowest point? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Do you have particularly big balls (behave yourselves) or deep swimming pools? How did we survive in the olden days when we had to walk some distance before flying a kite? Don't children prefer touchpads nowadays to make moot such difficulties?0
