You don't need a passport to travel between England and Scotland.

Is the airline that you're flying with insisting on one as a form of ID?

photographic ID required on easyJet domestic flights

EasyJet requires all passengers to provide photographic ID at check-in on all flights including domestic services. It has introduced this enhanced security measure because it is essential that airlines are able to reconcile passengers to bookings, and ensure that the person who booked to go on a flight is the same person who actually travels.

Acceptable forms of ID on domestic flights include:
    • valid passport
    • valid photographic national identity card
    • valid photographic driving licence
    • valid photographic forces identity card
    • valid police warrant card / badge
    • valid airport employee security identity pass
A child on parent's passport is an acceptable form of ID. It is recommended that passengers have their child's birth certificate available at check-in.

Passengers on French domestic flights - ie between Nice and Geneva - need to provide either a passport, national identity book, or a French family book.
The documentary requirements for passengers on International flights will remain as before - ie a valid passport or national identity card supported by any other relevant documentation such as visas.
These measures goes over and above what is currently required by law. However, in light of the increase focus on security. easyJet believes that these new procedures are in the interests of passengers and airline staff alike.

You need to provide photographic ID at check-in on all flights, including domestic services. If you check-in online you will still need to provide your photographic ID when you go through security and again when you board the plane.
    Photographic ID means:-

International flights outside the EU - Valid passport only
International flights within the EU - Valid passport or national identity card *
Domestic flights (excluding UK) - Valid passport or national identity card *
Domestic flights UK - Valid passport or photographic I.D.
    * not every country issues a national identity card

Please note: a driving licence does not represent a valid photographic ID, with the exception of UK domestic flights.

Children travelling with their parents or children aged 14 and over travelling on their own, need to comply with these special identity requirements.
Children under the age of 16 travelling on domestic flights in the UK, France, Spain and Portugal are not required to provide identification if accompanied by an adult who can vouch for the child’s identity. Children travelling on domestic flights in Italy must be in possession of their National Identity Card or Passport.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
