What;s the cheapest/best option for aerial?

Ok we are moving into a newbuild home, they apparantly have aerial points in the house but no aerial so will have to get one put up. From there onwards what is the best thing to do in regards to tv?
Either sky at £15 per month OR get a freeview box...
prob with sky is my partner wants to get a box that records but not sky + as we really dont rate them also it's another monthly expense..not sure if the freeview box is a better cheaper option?
What's everyone else got?

cheapest option re an aerial is a standard type from wickes etc.. and install/try it in the loft.
freeview box for me. cheap and cheerful.
sky is an overated piece of crap with adverts every 5 minutes......
